About the role
- Conduct comprehensive scans and mapping of grassroots organizations, focusing on equity-deserving populations in the Atlantic provinces.
- Identify and assess organizational and service delivery assets, documenting gaps and needs.
- Work with stakeholders to define consistent methodologies.
- Use desk reviews and interviews to establish connections with grassroots organizations.
- Compile findings into a stocktaking report, summarizing mapping results and organizational capacities, published in French and English.
- Contribute to creating online mapping tools for NBMC’s and ARAISA’s websites to maintain engagement with grassroots organizations.
- Collaborate on Tours with the Director of Membership and Intersectionality Initiatives and the member engagement team on two annual membership tours.
- Actively engage with ethnocultural and BIPOC member organizations to foster relationships and address needs.
- Assist in recruiting representatives from equity-deserving organizations, prioritizing NBMC's members.
- Schedule, organize, and facilitate quarterly online meetings and an in-person gathering in Year 1.
- Create and distribute meeting materials, agendas, and minutes.
- Collaborate with the ARAISA Manager to shape the call for proposals.
- Keep ongoing communication with advisory group members to gather insights, track progress, and address concerns.
- Deliver two online webinars (one in English and one in French) in Year 1 to introduce and validate assessment tools with grassroots organizations.
- Use feedback from webinars to ensure tools are practical, relevant, and aligned with project goals.
- Coordinate the online launch and dissemination of validated assessment tools, ensuring they are accessible and visible to all stakeholders.
- Implement the auto-assessment process as a prerequisite for organizations applying to the Call for Proposals (CFP), enhancing alignment with project goals.
- Assist grassroots organizations in using assessment tools to identify strengths and address capacity gaps.
- Maintain ongoing communication with organizations to ensure tool effectiveness and alignment with project objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in conducting environmental scans and mapping of organizations is required.
- Strong understanding of equity-deserving populations and grassroots organizations.
- Degree in Social Sciences, Business / Administration, Research Studies or related studies a strong asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in French and English required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail is required.
- Must be exceptionally organized and be flexible, resourceful, outgoing and prepared to take on new tasks.
- Can demonstrate initiative, work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and research tools and methodology is an asset.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
