About the role

  • Design, implement, and validate motor control for tracker actuation, including torque/speed/position loops and fault handling.
  • Develop, review, and iterate power electronics and lowpower designs for outdoor, ruggedized environments.
  • Specify, integrate, and validate battery systems and BMS.
  • Work with firmware team to embedded diagnostics and telemetry to enable remote monitoring, root-cause analysis, and predictive maintenance.
  • Analyze fleet telemetry to quantify performance, identify anomalies, and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate on tracker control algorithms and system safety interlocks.
  • Define test plans; execute HIL/SIL, bench and field validation; perform FMEA; close the loop with firmware/hardware changes.
  • Work across teams to ship robust designs and scalable updates.
  • Author specifications, schematics, test reports, design reviews, and field investigation summaries.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on relevant experience
  • Strong control theory, sensor fusion, and safety/fault management
  • Data analysis experience with time-series telemetry (SQL or equivalent; Python/JavaScript; dashboards;)
  • Outdoor/Industrial products: ingress protection, thermal design, lightning/ESD, surge protection, reliability testing
  • Familiar with industrial comms and protocols (CAN, RS485/Modbus)
  • Proven field support and root-cause analysis skills, including structured problem solving and clear documentation.
