About the role
- Evaluate, negotiate, and close key co-development and work-for-hire partnerships across cloud streaming and mobile games that help grow the footprint of Netflix Games with creators and developers of all sizes.
- Demonstrate fluency in complex legal and business issues within contracts, and develop thoughtful, win-win solutions with partners.
- Analyze the co-development and work-for-hire competitive landscape, and translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies and partnership plans.
- Partner closely with Production Operations and the Lead Outsourcing Manager to help expand Netflix’s global network of co-development and work-for-hire studios through strategic relationships with top external development partners.
- Bring a strong understanding of the indie game development landscape, including emerging studios, breakout titles, and creative trends that can inform sourcing strategy and longer-term partnership opportunities.
- Operate with agility across a rapidly evolving product and business landscape.
- Collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders to identify the best co-development and work-for-hire partnership targets based on the needs of the game, genre, feature set, production goals and business.
Requirements
- Strong experience sourcing partnerships in a gaming environment, with experience across mobile, console, and PC preferred.
- Strong expertise in negotiation and deal construction, including the legal aspects of co-development and work-for-hire partnership commercial negotiations.
- Solid understanding of game production process flows with some experience shipping games (social, F2P, mobile, PC, console, handheld).
- Deep knowledge of co-development and work-for-hire industry trends, competitor dynamics, regional market conditions, and emerging business opportunities.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn market insight and partner evaluations into clear recommendations.
- Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of the indie game development scene, with a strong instinct for quality, awareness of emerging studios and games, and an informed perspective on industry trends and creative direction.
- Proven track record of driving a broad range of game partnership deal types across co-development and work-for-hire.
- Strong product sense and the ability to assess both executional capability and creative potential across a wide range of external partners.
- Experience learning new technologies quickly and distilling information into actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
- Deep knowledge of gaming business models, with experience in game subscription services preferred.
- Experience thriving in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment.
