About the role

  • Build advertising systems and integrations that power the delivery of ads using Netflix's content delivery ecosystem.
  • Use a unique mix of client and server-side ad insertions, content delivery system, ad encoding recipes, content understanding and metadata to deliver ads thoughtfully.
  • Identify and build ad formats that will define the future of advertising on the Netflix streaming platform.
  • Drive definition of ad formats and standardization across delivery platforms (TV, mobile, web).
  • Lead experimentation to make the ad experience optimal for users and advertisers.
  • Scale ad tech to maximize impact on business and ensure advertiser brand safety.

Requirements

  • Professional experience with ad formats and ad delivery systems, including experimentation with ad creatives and/or native ads.
  • Knowledge of CTV-specific ad formats is a plus.
  • Experience with building large-scale infrastructure for real-time, low-latency, online advertising environments.
  • General understanding of the advertising marketplace and landscape, with a focus on publisher side challenges like optimizing fill rates, adjusting ad load, and maximizing advertiser value.
  • Proven track record of building systems that power sophisticated user experimentation, A/B testing, and lift studies.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking with demonstrated product sense and leadership in the working environment.
  • Expertise in developing systems that measure and optimize end-user advertising experiences, delivering the right advertisement at the right time for the right user.
  • Track record of collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders from product, engineering, operations, design, consumer research, etc., to develop and deploy models at scale
  • Familiarity with SDUI (Server-Driven User Interface) architectures is nice to have.
  • Experience building unique ad formats and ad products at scale across multiple advertising channels (CTV, DOOH, Mobile, and Web) is a plus.
  • Programmatic advertisement experience is a plus.
  • Contributed to an ads industry technology standard (e.g. VAST, OpenRTB) or worked on an industry consortium effort, working group etc. is a plus.
  • Familiarity with legal compliance and changing landscape of ads regulations around the world is a bonus.
