About the role

  • Lead strategy development for growth, asset lifecycle and Operational Excellence
  • Scope opportunities, develop and implement capital investments that meet the strategic aims of the business
  • Ensure projects deliver return on investment
  • Improve and optimize the existing fixed asset base and/or purchase new fixed assets to support growth ambition
  • Lead multi-functional project teams or contribute to Lean Six Sigma Improvement teams
  • Manage the basic and detailed design of all site projects based on project management principles
  • Ensure worker and operator safety during construction and ongoing operation of the plant
  • Leverage feedback from previous projects to prevent waste and optimize execution
  • Ensure Category standards and best practices are leveraged in the design to enable Operational Excellence
  • Support and coordinate efforts with the Operations teams to ensure a successful start-up that meets operational excellence criteria
  • Ensure a complete and smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation
  • Prepare and distribute the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report, the Project Defect analysis (PDA)
  • Ensure that all new assets are registered in the system and that their expense is properly allocated to start depreciation
  • Ensure that the investment project charter has been fulfilled and that the project scope is achieved with the agreed cost and timing

Requirements

  • Experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing CapEx projects
  • Experience ensuring that the engineering side of projects have been implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment installations, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation
  • Proven expertise utilising Project Management Methodology
  • Project management accreditation desirable
  • Experience managing contractors, sound understanding of contracts and permitting
  • Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline
  • Electrical bias is desirable
  • Working knowledge and experience in the application of TPM and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Experience working in processing plants
  • Experience working with packaging lines and automation
  • Experience working in food processing, food safety or highly regulated industry working to GMP
  • Managing project to CDM regulations and guidance
  • People development and management (including PDP, coaching and succession planning)
  • Understanding of HSE legislation and regulatory permitting
