About the role
- Partner closely with Sr. Pharmacy Sales Representatives to co-develop and execute territory sales strategies, prioritizing high-potential clinics and prescribers.
- Serve as the clinical sales subject matter expert: deliver peer-to-peer scientific presentations, handle complex clinical objections, and secure prescriber commitment to initiate or expand Lumicera specialty pharmacy services.
- Lead or co-lead strategic drug dinners, and educational events where clinical depth is required to influence prescribing behavior.
- Provide niche, disease-state and product-specific clinical pharmacy expertise (e.g., rheumatology, oncology, dermatology, gastroenterology, etc.) that standard sales representatives cannot provide.
- Accompany sales representatives on high-stakes sales calls and act as the decisive clinical voice.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders, high-volume prescribers, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management leadership to align clinical messaging with market strategy and revenue goals.
- When not engaged in field sales activities, support Clinical Account Executives and central pharmacist operations by providing clinical oversight on complex prior authorizations, therapeutic interchanges, dose optimizations, and workflow bottlenecks.
- Train clinic staff and prescribers on the Lumicera Prescriber Portal and optimal referral processes.
- Document all field activity, prescriber insights, and competitive intelligence in the corporate CRM to inform broader strategy.
- Monitor financial performance of won accounts and collaborate on retention or triage decisions when clinical or reimbursement barriers arise.
- Travel within assigned territory up to 60–70% (including evenings for drug dinners and conferences).
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of residence, or the ability to gain reciprocity within 4 months, required.
- 5 years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist working in or with specialty pharmacy, and direct prescriber interaction required.
- Experience in specialty pharmacy sales support, medical science liaison (MSL), or similar hybrid clinical-sales role strongly preferred.
- Existing relationships with specialty prescribers in assigned territory is a significant advantage.

- The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
