About the role

  • Prepare, review, and validate all import/export documentation for global shipments.
  • Ensure correct HS classifications, country of origin details, and tariff requirements.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and authorities in Hong Kong, China, EU, US, and other regions.
  • Maintain compliance with customs regulations, certifications, and product documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve customs issues, holds, or disputes.
  • Monitor, verify and control all customs invoices, ensuring accuracy versus contracted terms.
  • Work closely with Logistics, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure documentation consistency.
  • Stay up to date on international customs rules, tariff changes, regulatory updates, and trade agreements.
  • Use AI-powered monitoring tools to stay continuously updated on new or changing customs rules, trade regulations, tariff adjustments, or sanctions impacting Native Union’s global operations.
  • Identify regulatory risks or opportunities early and translate them into clear internal actions or process updates.
  • Digitalize and maintain a central HS-code database, ensuring classification consistency across all SKUs, with structured review cycles.
  • Strengthen and digitalize the relationship with customs brokers, including the use of pre-clearance programmes and automated data-sharing to reduce errors, delays, and unexpected holds.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement digital tools and automation to modernize documentation workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of internal SOPs, training materials, and compliance playbooks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in customs brokerage, import/export documentation or trade compliance & freight forwarding roles
  • Experience working with multiple regions (US/EU/Asia) is a plus
  • Experience in consumer goods
  • Strong understanding of customs compliance and documentation requirements
  • Experience with import/export processes, at global trade level
  • Ability and curiosity to adopt modern digital tools, and AI to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • High attention to details and organizational skills
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Able to work independently with strong ownership
  • Ability to challenge brokers and identify mistakes
  • Rigor, organization, and process-orientation
  • Clear communication in English; Cantonese and or Mandarin is a plus
