About the role

  • Oversee all accounting activities, manage the month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure the timely preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Supervise the maintenance of ledgers, reconciliation of accounts, and the implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Provide comprehensive oversight of financial operations, including cash flow management, investments, and reserves.
  • Analyze financial results, trends, and variances to deliver actionable insights to leadership and support the development of strategic plans.
  • Monitor financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, compliance with federal and state regulations, and timely payments.
  • Review and analyze payroll data for trends, discrepancies, and cost management.
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process, working with department heads to develop, review, and consolidate departmental budgets.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget, prepare variance reports, and provide recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on complex accounting issues, regulatory requirements, and financial systems.
  • Coordinate and support the annual audit process, serving as the primary contact for external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit deliverables.
  • Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions to optimize organizational resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant license.
  • Progressive accounting/finance experience, including auditing, cost accounting, and budgeting.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5 nights a year.
