About the role
- Perform data entry for a specific product and case type with high accuracy and efficiency
- QC information in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to ensure proper accessioning
- Accurately enter patient data into the Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS) and keep LIMS up-to-date
- Ensure paperwork belongs to the patient and add notes/holds to flag missing or discrepant information
- Communicate electronically with various internal departments
- Protect patient health information (PHI) to ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies
- Maintain familiarity with standard operating procedures (SOP) and clinical laboratory quality standards
- Complete required HIPAA/PHI, policy, and security training within first 30 days and maintain training requirements
- Expected to work scheduled shift (Tues-Sat, 3:30pm-12am PST) and holidays/overtime as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- BS/BA degree (preferred)
- Previous computer experience is required
- Typing speed of at least 45 wpm with high accuracy
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office applications and Google Product Suite
- Knowledge of numeric, oral, and written language applications
- Good oral and written communication skills including excellent knowledge of correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Ability to perform required duties with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to sit and type for entire shift
- Flexible in work time and shift; willingness to work holidays and overtime
- Ability to follow SOP and quality standards
- Must protect patient health information (PHI) and complete HIPAA/PHI privacy training within first 30 days
- Maintain current status on Natera training requirements
- Preferred: Experience with LIMS
- Preferred: Familiarity with medical terminology
- Preferred: Previous data entry and industry experience
- Preferred: Problem analysis and problem solving; data collection and maintenance
