About the role

Provide day-to-day operational support for Exadata systems in production and non-production environments
Conduct OS performance tuning and troubleshooting to optimize server performance and availability
Provide guidance and recommendations for modernization and cloud migration initiatives
Document OS configurations, procedures, and operational processes
Collaborate with client stakeholders, developers, and system administrators to design, implement, and support OS solutions
Ensure compliance with DISA STIG guidance and security best practices for Linux and Oracle database environments
Act as Linux SME supporting OS modernization, migrations, and optimization projects
Work independently and collaboratively as a client-facing technical resource
Be onsite daily at the client location in Suffolk, VA to support mission-critical systems

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Must have an active Secret Clearance
16+ years of experience as a Linux Admin, with strong focus on production environments
Expertise with Oracle RAC administration and troubleshooting
Extensive experience supporting Exadata and Oracle Database environments
Advanced skills in OS Linux performance tuning and optimization
Experience configuring and managing Exadata machines
Familiarity with Linux KVM architecture and configuration for security best practices
Knowledge of Linux layout and hardening practices per DISA STIG guidelines
Experience with Exadata platforms (preferred)
Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar for database management (preferred)
Experience working in government or highly regulated environments (preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
High attention to detail and commitment to security, reliability, and operational excellence
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test (including screening for marijuana)
