About the role

  • Acting as a second- and third-line escalation point for complex technical issues within the Customer Support team
  • Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving software issues involving code, databases, integrations, and system architecture
  • Carrying out thorough root-cause analysis before referring issues to Consultants, Developers, or R&D
  • Developing fixes, workarounds, and bespoke modifications using the Sage X3 4GL toolset and supporting technologies
  • Communicating effectively with customers when needed, translating technical complexity into clear, understandable explanations
  • Working closely with Support Analysts, Developers, and R&D to improve outcomes and reduce repeat issues
  • Building small tools or scripts to improve internal efficiency and customer response times
  • Continuously developing your technical skills and contributing ideas for improvement and innovation

Requirements

  • Experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python
  • Comfortable working with databases (e.g., MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL)
  • Understanding of modern web technologies
  • A Levels (with Computer Science preferred) and a degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred but not essential
  • Must possess the required work permit, visa, or immigration document to work in the UK on an unrestricted basis.
