About the role

  • Coordinate deliverables to implement compliance with the Sound Practices to Operational Resilience and ensure regulatory requirements (FFIEC, OCC, FRB) are adhered to
  • Drive delivery of a CUSO-wide Operational Resilience toolset: business requirements, vendor evaluation, procurement, implementation, maintenance, enhancements
  • Evaluate critical third party resilience capabilities and coordinate data capture and mapping for MUFG business function dependencies
  • Contribute to internal audit and regulatory exam activities; engage senior leaders, auditors, and regulatory examiners to address Operational Resilience risks
  • Identify issues/control gaps, analyze and document findings, and recommend remediation plans to management
  • Validate and challenge data/results to ensure accurate risk ratings
  • Maintain library of Resilience policies and procedures; facilitate updates and socialize changes
  • Review and engage in contract negotiations for business continuity/disaster recovery clauses
  • Produce metrics and reporting to show health and compliance for Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Management deliverables
  • Partner with BC, DR, and Incident Management teams to ensure recovery objectives are met
  • Work closely with Second Line of Defense review and challenge team to provide materials and responses required for effective challenge

Requirements

  • Significant experience (10+ years) in enterprise-wide business continuity, disaster recovery, and/or incident management (banking or financial industry preferred)
  • BCM software experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated knowledge in crisis and emergency management
  • Demonstrated strength applying business continuity and disaster recovery planning principles at staff, management, and executive levels
  • Understanding and ability to apply policies/procedures, laws, and regulations and deliver RFPs/RFIs including FFIEC, OCC, FINRA, Federal Reserve, and Sound Practices to Operational Resilience
  • Knowledge of technology infrastructure environments
  • Demonstrated experience with third party contracts and service agreements
  • Ability to apply creative/out-of-the-box thinking to determine business resiliency and assess emerging industry risk
  • Strong understanding of Operational Resilience methodologies and systems
  • Excellent project management skills (task identification, project planning, scope of recovery, coordination during continuity exercises/events)
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Advanced level skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Ability to engage with senior leaders, auditors, and regulatory examiners
  • Degree or equivalent work experience preferred (Degree in Finance, Computer Sciences, Business Management or Risk Management)
  • Professional certification from DRI or BCI desirable (e.g., ABCP, CBCP, MBCP, MBCI)
