About the role

  • Deliver corporate communications for Group functions, supporting both internal and external comms for Retail, People, and D&T, aligned to our transformation strategy.
  • Create engaging internal communications that build understanding of key initiatives, drive cultural change, and strengthen colleague connection through newsletters, huddles, town halls and live events, internal social platforms and more.
  • Develop and activate proactive corporate stories, using media, events, broadcasts and owned channels to drive reputation, trust and visibility of key programmes and successes.
  • Lead and support major corporate moments, including the annual retail conference, kick‑off events, leadership presentations, CEO reports, Business Board content and financial calendar storytelling.
  • Partner across Corporate Affairs and the business, working with the press office, content teams, leadership groups, Signal AI, journalists and external stakeholders to shape, prepare and deliver impactful communications.

Requirements

  • An experienced communications professional (7+ years) with a background in corporate or internal comms within retail or a large, complex organisation.
  • A strong storyteller and exceptional writer, able to craft strategic messaging, Q&A, comms plans and narratives for transformation, culture change and performance updates.
  • Confident working at pace, comfortable navigating ambiguity, tight deadlines and competing priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Experienced in content creation and events, including video, blogs, infographics, internal broadcasts or large‑scale colleague events.
  • Media‑savvy, with proven experience handling journalists, supporting leaders for interviews, and engaging effectively with external stakeholders.
