Develop and implement risk-based strategies in partnership with internal teams, including Product, Engineering, People, Business Development and Marketing teams.
Evaluate and internally report on privacy-related U.S., European, and international legislative, regulatory, legal developments and industry guidelines and translate them into guidance for the business teams.
Design and evolve global privacy compliance programs and strategies across Mozilla.
Lead privacy risk assessments including DPIAs,TIAs and third-party reviews, using a scalable approach to manage and mitigate risk.
Draft, revise, and maintain consumer and developer legal terms, privacy policies, notices, and privacy trainings.
Help us embed privacy-by-design principles into workflows and product development.
Work with commercial legal teams on critical privacy issues for our agreements with advertisers and other third parties.
Provide privacy advice in M&A transactions and post-close integration activities.
Requirements
J.D. degree and membership in a state bar with good standing (or foreign equivalent).
8+ years of relevant legal experience.
Experience as In-house counsel.
Substantial experience advising on global privacy issues across multiple jurisdictions, including those related to data privacy and security.
Background working with regulators and responding to regulatory inquiries.
Ability to drive impact, outcomes and engagement using limited resources to get results.
Established ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously and build consensus across cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to distill nuanced concepts into concise messages, write and edit for a variety of audiences, and deliver polished presentations.
