About the role
- Serve as a thought partner and trusted advisor to the Chief of Schools on academic strategy, priorities, and execution
- Translate academic goals into clear action plans, timelines, and deliverables
- Monitor progress on academic initiatives and ensure alignment with school-wide goals
- Identify operational gaps or inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve academic effectiveness
- Design, document, and refine academic processes, workflows, and workstreams to improve consistency and efficiency
- Support the implementation of standardized academic practices (lesson structures, live instruction expectations, assessment cycles, etc.)
- Ensure academic initiatives move from planning to execution with fidelity
- Track academic projects, deadlines, and dependencies across teams
- Be the trusted knowledgeable stakeholder in all LMS systems and virtual classrooms (ex. PowerSchool, Big Blue Button, Ascender)
- Plan, organize, and manage agendas for academic leadership meetings
- Capture notes, decisions, and action items; ensure follow-up and accountability
- Prepare briefing materials, summaries, and data points for the Chief of Schools
- Act as a liaison between the Chief of Schools and academic teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Help troubleshoot day-to-day academic operational challenges in a virtual environment
- Work with the Operations team to inform, guide, transfer knowledge necessary for the smooth and efficient schooling of children
- Support systems and practices specific to online learning (live lesson structures, recordings, LMS use, virtual engagement expectations)
- Assist in scaling academic operations as enrollment grows
- Manage special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Chief of Schools
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Experience in K-12 education
- Strong understanding of instructional practices and academic program management
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness
- Masters degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
