About the role
- Assist in the design, configuration, and implementation of network infrastructure components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and ensure optimal network performance.
- Perform regular network monitoring and analysis to proactively identify and address potential network vulnerabilities or performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network security measures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of network equipment and software, ensuring adherence to established standards.
- Participate in network capacity planning, making recommendations for network upgrades or enhancements based on future growth projections.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation.
- Manage inventory, rack and stage network hardware for configuration.
- Support in office tasks including domestic and international shipping and receiving of network hardware.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and network security concepts.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and software, such as Wireshark or Nagios.
- Familiarity with network hardware and software, including Cisco, Juniper, or Palo Alto products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Relevant certifications, such as CCNA or Network+, are a plus.
