About the role
- Lead engineering analysis and design for river engineering and natural systems restoration projects, for both private and public clients
- Lead engineering analysis and design for urban drainage and surface water management projects, for both private and public clients
- Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of riverine, valley-land, wetland, and shoreline restoration works
- Conduct specialized hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- Support river engineering and environmental assessment tasks
- Provide resident engineering and contract administration support for construction projects
- Successfully manage project budgets, invoicing, scheduling, change management, and client management
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
- Provide technical support and mentoring to junior team members
- Prepare technical reports, technical memoranda, and work plans
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in water resources and river engineering
- Professional Engineer designation with PEO is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Water Resources/Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Experience in writing technical reports and proposals, and giving presentations to multi-stakeholder groups
- Knowledge of current regulations, legislation and permitting
- Experience with design and drafting software such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD would be an asset
- Experience with various water resources modeling software (i.e., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWAT, HSP-F, EFDC) would be considered an asset
- Self-motivated individual, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A valid Class G driver’s license with no restrictions and a clean driving record.
