About the role
- Collaborates with team members from strategy, clinical, and new market functions to identify data driven opportunities to add value to existing and potential partners.
- Uses analytical tools to identify meaningful trend drivers with linkage to financial results.
- Presents models during workgroup calls and explains analyses to drive audience.
- Required to meet person with internal and/or external stakeholders to facilitate team and business priorities/opportunities.
- Applies fundamental actuarial principles in analyzing healthcare claims data.
- Develops, maintains, and analyzes projections models.
- Reconciles actuarial inputs and outputs.
- Coordinates with external actuaries and assists with quarterly revenue reconciliation.
- Maintains valuation model for opportunity analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related field
- 3 actuarial exams completed
- 2-4 years healthcare experience
- Knowledge of healthcare and/or managed care industry
- Proficiency in MS Excel for building actuarial models
- Strong knowledge of database concepts, analysis development, data warehousing, and decision tools
- Strong familiarity with SQL
- Experience with Python or R
- Experience in Commercial, Medicaid and Medicare analysis
- Experience with CMS shared savings programs
- Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort in ambiguity; desire to be a self-starter
