Job Level
About the role
- You'll own how Modulate shows up in the world: what we say, where we say it, and how it lands. That means you'll be the connective tissue between our technology, our go-to-market motion, and the broader conversation happening in AI.
- You'll define how Modulate's products are understood — by buyers, by developers, by analysts, and by the market.
- Own positioning and messaging for both flagship platforms — the Velma enterprise product and developer APIs — across customer segments, use cases, and buyer personas, and ensure that messaging is consistent from the first touchpoint through close.
- Support our PLG and developer GTM motion: Modulate pursues both enterprise and developer customers, with enormous potential through our product-led growth motion for our Developer APIs. You'll develop messaging and content tailored to developers and technical buyers — understanding that what compels a developer to try a product is very different from what compels a procurement team to sign a contract.
- Lead category creation: Modulate is not just competing in existing markets — we're defining a new one. You'll help establish "Ensemble Listening" and conversation intelligence as recognized categories, with Modulate at the center.
- Own sales enablement: Partner with Sales on collateral, battlecards, and one-pagers, but also on training — ensuring reps deeply understand our differentiation, can handle objections, and know how to position against competitors.
- Build a unified marketing strategy together with the Senior Director of Growth Marketing, collaborating closely on campaign planning and ensuring product marketing and demand generation are tightly aligned and moving toward the same goals.
- Amplify product launches: Partner with Product to ensure every significant release has the right story, the right audience targeting, and the right enablement assets ready on day one.
- Maintain and evolve Modulate's brand narrative so that we're routinely mentioned alongside the leading AI companies — not as a comparison, but as a peer.
- Own PR strategy and manage relationships with external PR and communications partners to drive Modulate's presence in AI and tech media; identify the right moments, publications, and conversations where Modulate's voice belongs.
- Manage our social media presence (primarily LinkedIn and X/Twitter), with direct oversight of our Social Media Manager and a consistent content cadence that builds brand equity over time.
- Own the Modulate website as a strategic asset — overseeing content strategy, copy, and information architecture in partnership with the Senior Director of Growth Marketing.
- Manage the contracted development team and CMS to keep the site current, and build out templates and modules that make it easy for the broader team to publish and update content independently.
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns tied to product launches, industry moments, and category-defining research.
- Represent Modulate at industry conferences and help secure speaking opportunities for our leadership team.
- You'll directly manage at least one team member (our Social Media Manager) from day one, with the team expected to grow as the function matures. We're looking for someone who takes people management seriously — who develops their reports, sets clear expectations, and builds a team culture consistent with Modulate's values.
Requirements
- Strong experience in B2B product marketing, ideally at a tech or AI company where the product was technically complex and required translating real depth into digestible narratives
- Experience marketing to both enterprise buyers and technical/developer audiences — you understand that PLG and enterprise sales motions require different approaches, and you've worked within both
- Demonstrated experience with category creation: you've helped define a market, not just compete in one
- Experience in sales enablement beyond asset creation — you've run trainings, built enablement programs, and measured their impact
- Comfort owning market research, competitive intelligence, and buyer persona work as core parts of the job, not side projects
- Experience with analyst relations (Gartner, Forrester, or equivalent)
- Experience managing at least one direct report, with a genuine commitment to developing your team
- You write well. Really well. Not just grammatically — with a point of view, and you know when to be bold
- You understand how AI conversations happen online and offline: which journalists matter, which newsletters get read, which conferences set the agenda
- You care about Modulate's mission: using AI to make online spaces safer and more trustworthy, and to protect people from fraud and harm
- You approach ethical questions with seriousness. We operate in sensitive domains — fraud, harassment, vulnerable users — and our marketing should reflect that responsibility
Benefits
- Competitive salary + equity- Full health, dental, and vision coverage
- Flexible PTO, with a strong culture of taking it
- Weekly team lunches with dietary accommodations
- Hybrid work: core in-office days with flexible remote options
- Regular leadership and industry learning sessions
- Support for career development and continued learning
- Up to 8 weeks work-from-anywhere policy
