About the role

  • Collaborate with MHIRJ departments to develop new sourcing channels and establish strategic partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers from commercial and contractual perspectives.
  • Lead, develop, and execute project-related strategies by drafting and negotiating contracts with suppliers to fulfill approved mandates defined by business requestors within the required timelines.
  • Identify, analyze, and capture cost-reduction opportunities across all product categories.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and develop effective internal and external professional networks.
  • Support the department’s internal requirements with appropriate complex sourcing strategies while optimizing synergy opportunities within the MHI group.
  • Manage supplier performance during the execution of complex initiatives and ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Support business requestors in applying contractual remedies for material breaches and lead negotiations for any claims against underperforming suppliers.
  • Ensure contracts are maintained in accordance with MHIRJ procurement policies and business requirements.
  • Maintain governance and KPI records in line with the objectives of the procurement balance dashboard.
  • Identify and implement improvements to procurement processes and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Law, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in indirect procurement and contract management, ideally across multiple product categories.
  • Experience in the aerospace and/or manufacturing sectors in a commercial role is an asset.
  • Outstanding negotiation skills, proven commercial and contractual experience, and legal awareness.
  • Enjoy sharing knowledge and coaching team members.
  • Comfortable managing large-scale projects and presenting complex strategies to senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, focused, and committed to meeting tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Able to drive improvement and innovation to deliver tangible results for the organization.
  • Fully autonomous and able to work without close supervision.
  • Highly proficient and an effective communicator in both French and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of financial management.
  • Proficient with MS Office, ERP/S4 Hana, and Power BI.
