About the role
- Plan, manage, and direct the activities of the distribution consulting team.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers through performance management and employee development initiatives.
- Resource planning and the administration of department policies and procedures.
- Drive high-quality outcomes for customers while leading major engineering and training initiatives.
- Lead business development efforts for the distribution consulting sector, identifying market opportunities and shaping solution offerings.
- Represent MEPPI within the electric utility industry and maintain strong professional networks.
- Actively participate in national and regional forums such as CIGRE and IEEE to contribute to industry thought leadership.
- Serve as the organization's lead expert for distribution planning and related consulting services.
- Provide leadership both internally to staff and externally to utility clients.
- Leverage deep experience in performing distribution planning studies and managing high-level consulting engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on electric power engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems studies consulting field, electric utility system planning, or T&D manufacturer's application engineering, or equivalent education and experience in areas key to the position.
- Advanced knowledge of electric grid consulting and power systems engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of power systems, computer methods, and analytical techniques.
- Advanced technical writing skills.
- Advanced interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required to communicate with employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and power systems analysis software tools.
