Prioritize and manage the project backlog for Mitacs+ while collaborating with the Product Lead, the Service Design team, and Operational Excellence
Work with stakeholders across the organization to understand their business, operational, and systems needs
Design and deliver innovative solutions and a pleasant user experience to meet those needs
Have solid knowledge of Mitacs+, Power Platform, and PowerApps to assist with developing new features and improving existing functionality
Develop deep knowledge of internal and external processes and workflows, including program requirements, to inform major strategic product decisions
Identify and define areas within Mitacs+ to collect analytics data and track product performance, adoption, and other key business metrics
Throughout the product development lifecycle, advocate for the needs of end users and internal stakeholders, assess market trends and emerging technologies, and evaluate what’s required to remain competitive to determine which features to build
Enable focused collaboration and promote cohesion across all team members and stakeholders while fostering an agile culture
Manage the product portfolio and releases, effectively groom the product backlog through feature prioritization, and estimate delivery timelines
Prioritize and build consensus across multiple stakeholder groups
Communicate stakeholder needs to Agile teams and vendors using user stories and prototypes
Coordinate activities across the software development lifecycle to ensure the delivered product meets user needs and delivers value for our clients

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
At least 8 years of experience working as a Product Manager or in a similar technology role
Extensive experience managing stakeholders across multiple organizational disciplines
Strong drive to take ownership of a set of new products and features
Motivated and able to foster collaboration and productivity within a product team
Good understanding of and experience with Mitacs’s business systems, operational needs, and product offerings
Motivated to design new solutions and be innovative
Previous experience collaborating with designers to define Customer Experience (CX) and User Interface (UI)
Experience working within development and cross-functional technology teams, particularly for customer-facing web applications
Knowledge of software development lifecycle best practices, including build, test, and release
Strong background in software development and experience using agile methodologies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional collaborative mindset and experience managing cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines when necessary
Strong problem-solving and task prioritization skills
Proven ability to manage workloads effectively and deliver results that meet agreed product objectives
Positive attitude
Written and spoken English proficiency is required for this role
