About the role
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Perform system analysis at all levels to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to speed innovation, increase operating efficiencies and assist in development, integration and certification of complex systems
- Participate in the System Engineering life cycle, including requirements development, architecture development, system analyses (reliability, maintainability, etc.), integration and test planning, and system verification
- Identify potential risks related to propulsion system development and integration. Develop strategies and models to mitigate risks.
- Contribute to the development of long-term roadmaps for propulsion system technologies by evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends to inform roadmap planning and decision-making
- Employ various testing, analysis, and modeling and simulation tools to estimate or calculate system performance
Requirements
- 15 years relevant experience with bachelor’s in engineering or a related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated skills in planning, implementing, and reporting on Systems Engineering activities on previous propulsion related efforts
- Experience in a variety of aspects of aerospace design development processes including design, analysis, testing and integration
- Candidate will be required to work with other engineering disciplines
- Experience with MBSE tools, such as Cameo, Enterprise Architect, and/or Rhapsody
- Minimum of an Active DoD Secret security clearance
