About the role
- Serve as a contractual business advisor to line management (Business Group President, Operations Managers, Program Managers) and functional management (Procurement, Pricing, Finance/Accounting, Costpoint Team, Business Operations, and Project Control) on contractual and proposal matters.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including reporting requirements.
- Ensure contracts, proposals, and work products comply with HII policies and Contracts Department processes, and that contract files include appropriate documentation to support compliance.
- Negotiate terms of contract documents, including but not limited to Contracts, Cost Proposals, NDAs, and Teaming Agreements.
- Support proposal development by analyzing Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to determine contractual requirements necessary for a compliant, responsive, and competitive proposal.
- Follow corporate policies and procedures to obtain proper approvals.
- Become a skilled user of Unison Contract Lifecycle Management software, maintaining cradle‑to‑grave contract information.
- Communicate effectively within the team, across the company, and with customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
- Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI/Poly.
- Experience managing contracts, subcontracts, and/or pricing professionals.
- Experience with Firm Fixed Price contract types.
- 10+ years of government contracting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
- Experience supporting proposal efforts, including the management of cost narratives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
