About the role

  • Establish yourself, and the organization, as a subject matter expert (SME) in the vertical market through thought leadership articles, speaking engagements, and involvement in industry events.
  • Support Regional sales team members with local opportunities they may have within the vertical market.
  • Drive new business development within the critical infrastructure sector, with a focus on acquiring net-new customers.
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to penetrate utilities, oil, and gas organizations.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities, consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Position and articulate the value of solutions in alignment with customer needs, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with marketing, solution engineering, and leadership teams to refine go-to-market strategies for the vertical.
  • Lead complex sales cycles, including negotiation, contract development, and closing high-value deals.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to influence product strategy and positioning.
  • Lay the foundation for future team growth, including helping define roles, processes, and sales playbooks.
  • Mentor and support future account executives as the team expands.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to prospect, qualify, and close net-new business within enterprise accounts
  • Strong understanding of the critical infrastructure landscape, including utilities, oil, and gas sectors
  • Ability to develop and execute targeted sales strategies aligned with organizational growth objectives
  • Skilled in building, managing, and forecasting a healthy sales pipeline
  • Experience engaging with C-level stakeholders and influencing complex buying decisions
  • Consistent track record of exceeding sales quotas and driving significant revenue growth
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and technical teams to deliver customer value
  • Capability to build, lead, and scale a high-performing sales team over time
  • Strong skills in managing complex deal cycles and closing high-value contracts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations to executive audiences.
