About the role
- Lead the sourcing function by supervising the purchasing team
- Ensure the effective and uninterrupted supply of direct and indirect materials for both new and existing production lines
- Build and stabilize material sourcing strategies and supplier networks to support production ramp-ups
- Execute sourcing initiatives for new projects
- Implement systems and controls that guarantee material availability, cost competitiveness, and compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
- Monitor inventory levels, and resolve supply risks
- Supervise and develop the purchasing team
- Lead complex supplier and material change projects
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) and supplier negotiations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, PD, R&D, Quality, Planning, Operations, and Customers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Engineering, finance, business administration
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing companies
- Minimum 3 years in manager position
- Experience in medical companies
- Excellent bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and writing communication skills
- Advanced computer proficiency
- Proven experience supervising Engineering Level Professionals
- Leading opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction
- Strong understanding of cost modeling, supplier process controls, and advanced manufacturing technologies
- Experience in managing budgets, expenses, CAPEX and inventory needs
- Strong background in sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain engineering within manufacturing environments
- Deep understanding of Manufacturing processes, variances and absorption
- Proven experience monitoring Production plans and adjusting to changes
- Able to operate and thrive under high levels of volume, change and uncertainty
- Highly developed leadership competencies.
