About the role

  • Lead the sourcing function by supervising the purchasing team
  • Ensure the effective and uninterrupted supply of direct and indirect materials for both new and existing production lines
  • Build and stabilize material sourcing strategies and supplier networks to support production ramp-ups
  • Execute sourcing initiatives for new projects
  • Implement systems and controls that guarantee material availability, cost competitiveness, and compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor inventory levels, and resolve supply risks
  • Supervise and develop the purchasing team
  • Lead complex supplier and material change projects
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) and supplier negotiations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, PD, R&D, Quality, Planning, Operations, and Customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Engineering, finance, business administration
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing companies
  • Minimum 3 years in manager position
  • Experience in medical companies
  • Excellent bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and writing communication skills
  • Advanced computer proficiency
  • Proven experience supervising Engineering Level Professionals
  • Leading opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction
  • Strong understanding of cost modeling, supplier process controls, and advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Experience in managing budgets, expenses, CAPEX and inventory needs
  • Strong background in sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain engineering within manufacturing environments
  • Deep understanding of Manufacturing processes, variances and absorption
  • Proven experience monitoring Production plans and adjusting to changes
  • Able to operate and thrive under high levels of volume, change and uncertainty
  • Highly developed leadership competencies.
