About the role

  • Define low-level software architecture: bootloader (e.g., U-Boot), kernel/RTOS, partitions, drivers, HAL and interfaces with middleware.
  • Specify requirements (performance, latency, determinism, power consumption) and manage safety/security/performance trade-offs.
  • Select and justify architecture patterns (partitioning, embedded microservices, IPC, real-time scheduling, multicore).
  • Supervise low-level C/C++ development and code reviews (MISRA/CERT, static analysis, coverage).
  • Industrialize: continuous integration, reproducible artifacts, traceability and software supply chain (SBOM).
  • Ensure compliance with standards (DO-178C/DO-330, ECSS, ARP4754A, DO-254 for HW interface, ANSSI/RGS guidance) depending on the project.
  • Contribute to architecture documentation (UML/SysML, ICD, SRS/SAD), compliance evidence and embedded cybersecurity (hardening, encryption, secure boot, key management).
  • Provide technical pre-sales/RFQ support and mentor development & integration teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent (engineering school or Bac+5 equivalent)
  • More than 15 years’ experience in low-level embedded software development and/or architecture
  • Experience in the aerospace, space or defense industry
  • Proficiency with RTOS/real-time Linux, drivers, BSP, boot chain and real-time constraints
  • Strong knowledge of functional safety (DAL/ASIL/SIL as applicable)
  • Advanced English (written and spoken)
  • Eligibility for a defense clearance (Secret level or equivalent, depending on the project)
