About the role

  • Analysis and optimization of customs processes (clearance, risk & control management)
  • Gathering business requirements and creating user stories / use cases and concepts
  • Contributing to target architectures, strategies, and transformation initiatives in the customs domain
  • Supporting digitalization and modernization projects
  • Developing concepts for risk management, data analysis, or modernization of customs application systems
  • Identifying and applying innovation topics (e.g., GenAI, automation) in the customs context

Requirements

  • University degree and solid experience in customs administration or customs-related areas of logistics/freight forwarding
  • Strong understanding of core customs processes (e.g., risk analysis, investigations, import/export)
  • Confident handling of legal frameworks such as the UCC and its Implementing/Delegated Acts
  • Knowledge of relevant IT specialist applications (ATLAS, AES, NCTS, REX, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of business analysis or a strong willingness to learn quickly
  • Ideally, experience in process analysis and modeling (e.g., BPMN)
  • Advantageous: initial exposure to agile ways of working (Scrum, SAFe)
  • Fluent German and English skills
