About the role
- Design and present concepts, journeys, and interfaces, including information architecture, navigation, and flows.
- Translate research and user needs into evidence-based, inclusive design approaches.
- Prototype ideas (from rapid sketches to interactive and coded) to test and validate concepts.
- Facilitate workshops and align direction across business, technology, and delivery teams.
- Communicate complex ideas simply, to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Spot opportunities to create business value and improve the user experience.
Requirements
- Confidence in framing design as a driver of business strategy, not just delivery.
- Experience building consensus around design vision across business, technology, and leadership stakeholders.
- Experience in user-centred design from discovery to delivery (public sector / GDS experience a plus).
- Strong prototyping skills across different fidelities (paper, digital, coded).
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design and ability to link design decisions to measurable business outcomes (e.g. efficiency, revenue, engagement).
