About the role

  • You lead the wet-chemistry production areas in precious metal recycling in Hanau and hold full personnel responsibility for these teams, developing them according to Heraeus Supply Chain principles and the Heraeus Leadership Model.
  • You ensure that all local, international and Heraeus internal policies and laws are complied with to guarantee the safe operation of all business units in the division.
  • You are also responsible for timely notification to EHS about planned changes and new investments, as well as the immediate reporting of deviations from intended operations and workplace accidents.
  • You manage the areas to achieve the highest efficiency standards and ensure operational excellence.
  • You collaborate closely with planning, sales interfaces and the production cost centers across the entire precious metal recycling operation.
  • You are responsible in your area for internal personnel and capacity planning and you contribute to strategic planning and decision-making regarding equipment and investments.
  • In this role you lead the wet-chemical areas for alkaline digestion and recycling as well as the wet-chemical area of precious metal refining, coordinating projects and processes.
  • Last but not least, you ensure knowledge transfer between recycling sites worldwide.

Requirements

  • University degree in a chemical or technical field, ideally with a PhD.
  • Solid experience in disciplinary or functional leadership of employees.
  • Experience as a group or project leader in the chemical sector.
  • Experience in precious metal recycling with a focus on wet-chemical processing of spent catalysts, alloys and precious-metal-containing wastes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and production processes.
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications and experience with SAP.
  • Enjoy working in a production-oriented environment, with an independent, goal-oriented and structured working style, and a high level of commitment and flexibility.
