About the role
- Develop and implement a comprehensive payments strategy in alignment with the FS sector and industry goals and objectives
- Lead a team of payments professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and productivity
- Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to drive innovation and compliance within the payments function
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the best e2e solution for clients
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of payment systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
- Contribute to business development, internal initiatives, and professional training to support career development
Requirements
- Proven senior level experience in payments operations, in progressively responsible roles
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving results
- In-depth knowledge of payment systems, technologies, and industry best practices leveraging a robust network of key stakeholders and clients, trade associations, regulators in the payment space in the UK and Europe
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and risk management principles in the payments domain
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think strategically, make data-driven decisions, and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience of proposition building and delivery
- Business development experience generating c.£4m of direct consulting revenues (Vice President)
