About the role

  • Design, develop and maintain COBOL programs on IBM z/OS mainframe systems
  • Create, modify and optimize JCL scripts for batch job execution
  • Work extensively with DB2 for SQL queries, stored procedures and performance tuning
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Debug and troubleshoot application-level issues ensuring timely resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts and QA for end-to-end delivery
  • Perform unit testing and support integration/system testing
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices and compliance requirements
  • Provide production support and resolve incidents related to mainframe applications

Requirements

  • 5 years of hands-on experience in COBOL development on mainframe systems
  • Strong expertise in JCL and DB2 including SQL and stored procedures
  • Familiarity with CICS for online transaction processing
  • Proficiency in TSO/ISPF and mainframe debugging tools
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
