About the role

  • You will lead the wet-chemical production areas in precious metal recycling in Hanau and have full personnel responsibility for these areas, developing your team in line with Heraeus Supply Chain principles and the Heraeus Leadership Model.
  • You ensure compliance with all local, international and Heraeus internal policies and laws to guarantee the safe operation of all business units in the division.
  • You are responsible for timely notification to EHS about planned changes and new investments, as well as for the immediate reporting of deviations from intended operation and workplace accidents.
  • You manage the areas to achieve the highest efficiency standards and ensure operational excellence.
  • You collaborate closely with planning, sales and the production cost centers across the entire precious metal recycling operation.
  • You are responsible for internal personnel and capacity planning in your area and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making regarding equipment and investments.
  • In this role you lead the wet-chemical areas of alkaline digestion and recycling as well as the wet-chemical section of precious metal refining, coordinating related projects and processes.
  • Last but not least, you ensure knowledge transfer between recycling sites worldwide.

Requirements

  • University degree in a chemical or technical field, ideally with a PhD.
  • Solid experience in disciplinary or functional leadership of employees.
  • Experience as a group or project leader in the chemical sector.
  • Experience in precious metal recycling with a focus on the wet-chemical processing of spent catalysts, alloys and precious-metal-containing waste.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and production processes.
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications and SAP.
  • Enjoy working in a production-related environment and demonstrate an independent, goal-oriented and structured working style, high commitment and flexibility.
