About the role
- Responsible for thermal systems integration modeling for vehicle thermal management development and validation.
- Leverage advanced simulation tools to optimize thermal performance across vehicle systems.
- Develop and validate thermal systems models using 1D simulation tools to ensure optimal vehicle thermal management.
- Work closely with Propulsion Systems teams and suppliers to accurately size heat exchangers and other thermal components.
- Ensure all system performance requirements are met through comprehensive thermal analysis and simulation.
- Identify necessary enhancements to thermal management components, systems, and controls to meet thermal systems requirements.
- Collaborate with Engine Systems and HVAC teams to resolve thermal systems issues through integrated solutions.
- Coordinate work across functional teams through Interface Control Document (ICD) systems to maintain alignment.
- Interpret propulsion systems and vehicle 1D and CFD results, providing guidance to simulation engineers when necessary.
- Contribute to the development of innovative thermal management solutions for next-generation vehicle platforms.
Requirements
- Good conversational English skills (B2, C1, C2)
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in vehicle/powertrain thermal management areas including powertrain cooling, climate control, or thermal protection
- Demonstrated expertise with 1D simulation tools such as Flowmaster, Kuli, AVL Cruise, AMESim, and calibration tools like INCA and DC Plot
- Proficiency in Matlab-Simulink for system modeling and simulation
- Experience working on Battery Electric Vehicles thermal management systems
- Knowledge of controls and/or calibration development for thermal systems
- Proven troubleshooting skills in powertrain controls and calibration development
- Understanding of various electrified powertrain systems and their thermal requirements
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex simulation results and make recommendations
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment.
