About the role

  • You design end-to-end.
  • Personally own and design features from problem framing and ideation through execution, release, and iteration, with a strong focus on mobile apps.
  • Set our visual direction.
  • Ensure clarity, hierarchy, and high design standards across the product.
  • Work data-informed.
  • Use qualitative insights and quantitative signals to understand user behavior and make better design decisions.
  • Deliver high-quality features.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure designs are executed with a high standard of quality, usability, and polish.
  • Lead by doing.
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and coaching to two senior product designers.
  • Contribute to leadership.
  • Active part of the product and company leadership team, helping shape priorities, processes, and how design shows up at Mimo.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing consumer-facing digital products, with strong depth in mobile app design (and ideally web as well).
  • Experienced in leading and hiring designers.
  • Experience mentoring and managing senior designers and enjoy helping others do their best work.
  • Strong visual taste.
  • Can confidently define and evolve visual direction through your own design decisions.
  • Care deeply about our learners.
  • Like talking to users and using research and data to guide decisions.
  • Curious and pragmatic about new tools.
  • Actively explore AI and emerging tools, integrating them thoughtfully into our design process.
  • Enjoy staying hands-on.
  • Want to spend most of your time designing while also taking responsibility for leading others.
  • Big plus if you know how to code.
  • Comfortable reading code, understanding existing codebases, reviewing implementation details, and collaborating closely with engineers to shape better solutions.
  • Must be available to work in UTC ±0 to +3 timezone.
