About the role
- Provide friendly and professional customer assistance supporting mountain operations at Middlebury College Ski Areas
- Support base lodge operations, lift operations, snow removal, event set-up and cleanup, truck loading and unloading, and trash/debris removal
- Perform work assignments according to established procedures, practices, and policies
- Report safety hazards or violations and problems to supervisor
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Provide race and event support
- Perform trail maintenance, snow shoveling, firewood collection, parking lot attendant duties
- Assist with search and rescue within ski area boundaries
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support department mission
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- No specific experience required
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
- Knowledge Basic computer skills beneficial
- Basic First Aid is beneficial
- Lifting 20 -30 pounds frequently, occasionally 50 pounds and able to pull 100 pounds occasionally
- Work environment is outdoors in the winter; extended periods on foot in rugged terrain
- Potential overnight shift work
