About the role
- Own the full cycle recruiting for engineering, technical, and corporate roles across our nationwide operations.
- Partner directly with hiring managers to define their talent needs further, to craft ideal candidate profiles and personas, and to build data-backed sourcing strategies.
- Screen, assess, and present highly qualified outbound-sourced, passive candidates
- Build robust, warm, and qualified talent pipelines and pools using LinkedIn Recruiter, ATS/CRM tools, HireEZ, Handshake, and other available platforms to identify and engage with top passive talent.
- Leverage your industry knowledge to forecast sourcing/hiring needs and proactively support future workforce planning.
- Advise hiring managers on HR/TA process and policy, compensation, labor market and competitor trends, competitive intelligence, and candidate motivations.
- Support equitable and compliant hiring processes in alignment with OFCCP and federal contracting standards.
- Represent Michael Baker at career fairs, industry events, universities, and professional associations as needed.
- Elevate the candidate experience by ensuring a seamless, respectful, and high-touch recruitment journey.
- Partner with TA leadership to optimize processes, innovate sourcing methods, and continuously strengthen and improve recruiting metrics.
- Champion our 2026 strategic direction as we expand into digital consulting, advanced technology, data-driven design, and next-generation infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7+ years relevant full-cycle recruiting experience in technical recruiting (prior experience recruiting in the civil engineering space is strongly preferred in addition to technical!)
- Proven success in recruiting, closing, and onboarding passive managers, engineers, PMs, technical specialists, and corporate hires.
- A solid understanding of civil engineering disciplines and practices, common industry roles and their requirements, and market dynamics and challenges.
- Strong data integrity and daily use of prior ATS platforms (Workday, iCIMS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and sourcing tech such as HireEZ and Handshake. Experience with Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) is a huge plus!
- Strong relationship-building, communication, organization, presentation, and prioritization skills.
- Experience supporting federal contracting recruitment and OFCCP compliance.
- A data-informed approach to performance and process improvement.
