Lead a 30+ person Traffic Engineering and ITS team, coordinating with multidisciplinary staff across regional offices.
Manage all aspects of traffic and roadway design projects—from concept through execution—ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Oversee project teams, assign tasks, review deliverables, and provide technical guidance across highway, arterial, and local roadway projects.
Monitor scope changes, identify additional service needs, and manage budgets and schedules.
Mentor staff and foster professional development across engineering and project management disciplines.
Represent Michael Baker International in professional organizations, public meetings, and client engagements.
Drive strategic growth in emerging technologies including EV infrastructure, ITS, and connected/autonomous vehicle systems.
Ensure QA/QC practices across all traffic engineering work in the region
Requirements
20+ years of progressive experience in traffic and/or roadway design.
PE license in New Jersey and/or New York (required); PTOE certification (highly preferred).
Proven experience with NJDOT, NYSDOT, NJTA, and other regional agencies.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
Exceptional communication abilities—written, verbal, and public speaking.
Demonstrated success in proposal writing, client presentations, and strategic project delivery.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
