About the role

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes, and financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decisions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage external audit processes, ensuring timely and successful completion.
  • Use advanced Excel functions to analyze data, generate reports, and optimize workflows.
  • Partner closely with the VP of Accounting on strategic initiatives and special projects.

Requirements

  • - Bachelor’s degree in** Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).**
  • - Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • - Advanced knowledge of **U.S. GAAP. **
  • - Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • - **Advanced Excel proficiency**, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis, and the **development and maintenance of macros (VBA)** to automate recurring reports and accounting workflows.
  • - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • - Excellent communication skills in English (advanced proficiency required).
  • - High level of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • - Preferred industry experience:** Senior Housing, Real Estate, Hospitality, or Healthcare. **
  • - Preferred: Hands-on experience with Yardi accounting software
