About the role
- Provide counseling services at multiple site(s) including individual, marital/couples, family, group therapy and psycho-social groups
- Promote interactive communication with Methodist Healthcare Ministries programs, community partners, schools, Wesley Nurses and other agencies
- Develop and refine linkages between programs and community health care facilities and social service providers
- Travel to assigned communities for community development, outreach and periodic regional training
- Determine eligibility, match income with sliding fee scale, and inform clients of fees for sessions
- Develop and maintain cumulative client records and individualized plans of care; use DSM and ICD for assessment and diagnosis
- Develop intervention strategies to meet short-term and long-term treatment goals and apply evidence-based treatment methods
- Make appropriate referrals for case management services and conduct follow-up to ensure service delivery
- Participate in quality assurance activities, analyze program data, and produce reports to inform planning and development
- Plan, coordinate, and implement projects and clinical groups, presentations, and workshops to support mental health access
- Manage administrative aspects of counseling program including case flow, assessments, crisis interventions, supplies, office space, security of records, fee collection and deposits
- Participate in community events and may work evenings and/or weekends as needed; sustain departmental productivity standards
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW or MSSW), Counseling, or related degree plan for LPC/LMFT
- One year clinical experience providing psychotherapy, counseling, and case management assistance required (two years preferred)
- Maintain an active LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or Licensed Psychologist license issued by Texas BHEC or be eligible via reciprocity
- Complete all required continuing education and follow statues and rules required by the license
- Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of the Internet, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and electronic health records software; able to document efficiently in electronic health record
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to drive and have access to a car, maintain a valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance; frequent in-town travel and periodic regional travel required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical documents and professional journals
- Ability to lift and maneuver 25 pounds
