About the role

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with trade customers, including builders, contractors, and construction professionals.
  • Promote the company's large range of timber and hardware products, providing expert advice and solutions to meet customers' needs.
  • Identify new business opportunities and establish a strong presence.
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to the growth of the trade division.
  • Collaborate with the trade team and other departments to ensure efficient order processing, timely deliveries, and exceptional customer service.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, quotes, and proposals to prospective and existing customers.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales reports and forecasts to the management team.

Requirements

  • Experience in trade sales, preferably within the timber and hardware industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building strong customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse customer base.
  • Sound product knowledge and the ability to provide technical advice and recommendations.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to drive sales opportunities to completion.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing business opportunities.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
