Application Engineer

• Determine the root cause and severity of vulnerabilities reported to us through our bug bounty platform.
• Interface with ethical hackers, triage reports, and guide product engineering teams to resolution.
• Document identified vulnerabilities in a way that allows for our engineering team to take quick action.
• Write code to support the development of security engineering projects, or fix vulnerabilities in MetaMask client applications. This includes the development of AI tooling for vulnerability determination and resolution in order to keep pace with the changing AI-powered vulnerability detection landscape.
• Assess potential security vulnerabilities within our applications, and work with development teams to ensure remediation in our established SLAs.
• Support product teams as they develop new features by conducting design reviews, threat modeling, security testing, and code reviews.
• Identify gaps in MetaMask’s secure software development life cycle (SSDLC), and take initiative leading efforts to address them.
• Participate and contribute to team meetings, roadmap planning, and discussions.
• Validate that security patches address reported vulnerabilities and test for any potential bypasses
• Proactively prevent future occurrences of a vulnerability through developing automation, security controls, and educating developers.

Senior Application Security Engineer

Full-stack Engineer

• Own the entire lifecycle of features and projects — from technical design through to launch and production monitoring
• Build and ship user-facing features in our React Native mobile application
• Contribute across the full stack: React Native mobile frontend, Node.js/NestJS backend API, and shared TypeScript libraries
• Integrate third-party payment providers and financial services APIs
• Improve application performance, test coverage, and developer experience
• Onboard and mentor other engineers through code reviews and pairing

User Researcher

• Lead end-to-end mixed-methods research
• Plan, design, and execute full-cycle research (discovery, evaluative, generative, and strategic) using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Select and tailor the right methods (e.g., interviews, diary studies, usability tests, surveys, concept testing) to answer high-priority questions for the product and design team.
• Deliver robust, timely insights that are tightly aligned with product milestones and decision points.
• Communicate insights in compelling, digestible ways (presentations, workshops, artifacts, dashboards, narratives) tailored to different audiences, from Independent Contributors to Executives.
• Establish and evolve research best practices, processes, and templates that scale.
• Partner with Product, Design, Marketing, Data, and Engineering leads at MetaMask to define research questions, success criteria, and learning roadmaps.
• Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations that directly influence roadmaps, feature definitions, and UX decisions.
• Identify and articulate trade-offs, risks, and opportunities grounded in user behavior and market context.
• Champion user-centered thinking in planning and prioritization forums, ensuring user impact is considered alongside technical and business constraints.
• Work across product lanes, and with other UX Researchers, to uncover shared user needs, overlapping journeys, friction points, and systemic UX issues.
