About the role Customer-focused, highly technical pre-sales Sales Engineer for the Japan market Collaborate closely with Regional Sales Managers and partner organizations Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution proposals Articulate benefits of Menlo Security’s data security solutions to technical and non-technical audiences Research technical requirements and architect solutions to meet customer needs Understand customer business drivers, technical environments and security challenges Lead Proof of Concept engagements including deployment, configuration, training and issue resolution Provide reporting and feedback to Sales, Product Management and Engineering Act as subject matter expert on data security, data privacy, and compliance Enable regional partners and drive partner-led opportunities Work with customers to grow and expand implementation/integration of Menlo Security products Overnight travel throughout the region as required Requirements Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or Equivalent Experience 5+ years pre-sales experience in the computer networking or security space Preference for proficiency in speaking and writing English (ideally with certifications Eiken Pre-1+ and TOEIC 800+) Excellent knowledge and experience with a wide variety of IT technologies and security solutions Experience with Web Proxy Technologies Experience with Malware Analysis (Static, Delta, Dynamic/Runtime) Host-based Forensics and Windows Internals knowledge Network Forensics (Packet Capture and Analysis) Email Security and Email Flow (Exchange/Domino, Cloud Solutions, AV and Anti-SPAM) Incident Response experience (workflow, evidence gathering, chain of custody) Sandboxing experience (GFI, Cuckoo, Sandboxie) Network Engineering knowledge (OSI model, IPv4/6, Routing, Switching, DNS, VLANs, Subnetting, Taps, Load Balancers) Network Security knowledge (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, HTTP/SSL Proxies) Enterprise Architecture knowledge (Active Directory, SCCM, LDAP/RADIUS/TACACS+, 2-Factor Auth) Virtualization Technology experience (VMware, Citrix, VDI) Willingness to travel overnight throughout the region Preferred security certifications such as ISC2, GIAC, IPA Strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize and execute project tasks Exceptional written and oral communication skills Familiarity with Menlo Security competitors and security landscape Familiarity with hacking/exploitation tools, common malware families, and AV/IDS/IPS evasion techniques Must be based in Tokyo; relocation sponsorship is not available Collaborative, inclusive, and fun culture Opportunities to take initiative and implement new ideas Work with major enterprise customers including Fortune 500 and global banks Copy ATS Keywords Tip: use these terms in your resume and cover letter to boost ATS matches.
