About the role
- Own the regional government business, including pipeline development, deal execution, and revenue delivery across priority sectors.
- Lead the end-to-end sales cycle for complex public-sector engagements, from opportunity shaping and market entry through procurement, contracting, and expansion.
- Build and maintain senior relationships with ministries, regulators, agencies, and state-owned entities relevant to priority use cases.
- Shape and influence government programs aligned with national priorities, modernization efforts, resilience planning, and operational readiness.
- Lead and oversee RFPs, tenders, and multi-stakeholder programs, including donor- or IFI-funded initiatives where relevant (e.g., World Bank, ADB, AfDB, IDB, USAID, JICA, etc.).
- Build and manage a regional partner ecosystem, including systems integrators, local firms, international organizations, and strategic collaborators.
- Work cross-functionally with product, solutions engineering, legal, finance, and delivery teams to tailor offerings and ensure successful contract execution.
- Maintain a realistic, budget-aligned pipeline and provide accurate forecasting to executive leadership.
- Strategically leverage executive involvement, including the founder/CSO, while independently driving deals to closure.
- Represent Tomorrow.io at high-level government forums, industry events, and international conferences.
- Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
- Fluency in English, additional languages relevant to the region are a strong plus.
- 15+ years of experience in government, institutional, or enterprise sales, with significant responsibility for complex, multi-year public-sector deals.
- Proven track record of closing large-scale government contracts, ideally in SaaS, data, infrastructure, or technology-driven solutions.
- Strong understanding of public procurement, budget cycles, and the realities of navigating multi-stakeholder government environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing formal tenders and RFPs, and comfort operating in regulated environments.
- Demonstrated prior management experience, including leading regional sales teams, setting performance expectations, coaching senior sellers, and driving consistent execution across complex, distributed environments.
- Ability to operate credibly with senior government officials and political stakeholders, strong judgment, and diplomacy.
- Strong pipeline discipline and forecasting accuracy, able to distinguish political interest from funded opportunity.
- Experience building and leading teams and partner ecosystems in-region.
- Comfortable operating in a startup environment, combining strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
- Self-directed, accountable, and mission-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and bias toward action.
