Lead technological innovation and execution across Cloud, IoT, AI/ML, and Embedded software systems
Provide strategic technical leadership to the Software Systems teams in Cardiovascular, Neuroscience and Medical Surgical portfolio at MEIC
Partner with technology leadership across OUs and Software Communities of Practice to ensure implementation of principles Design for Software Reliability and Manufacturability (CRM) and drive software excellence
Work with cross-functional teams and leadership to align on the technology roadmap, review project progress, identify risks, and prioritize Cloud, IoT, AI/ML initiatives
Collaborate with clinical and product teams to translate clinical needs into clear software requirements
Participate in Technical Advisory Committees and oversee architecture governance ensuring compliance with standards for security, scalability, and software quality
Lead efforts to enhance software quality through Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM), Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Plans (PSQIP), and compliance with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304
Conduct technical feasibility assessments for emerging technologies and technical reviews to assess design quality, technical risk, and delivery strategies
Oversee end-to-end software engineering processes and systems engineering ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and clinical/therapy needs
Foster knowledge sharing through Communities of Practice, drive continuous improvement, and promote an innovation culture through scouting and mentoring
Requirements
B-Tech/BE in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field with 20+ years of experience in Software and Systems Engineering OR ME/M-Tech with 18+ years of relevant experience
Proven track record in leading technology teams and innovation across Cloud, IoT and software systems
Expertise in architecture governance, with deep experience in defining and implementing software design and development frameworks
Strong knowledge of software engineering processes, including the development of tools and techniques to drive efficiency and scalability
Hands-on experience with technical evaluations and feasibility studies for emerging technologies
Deep familiarity with product security frameworks, regulatory standards, and compliance
Expertise in systems engineering, with an understanding of clinical/therapy domains and healthcare standards
Leadership in Technical Innovation, including leading and/or mentoring teams in clinical and/or software innovations
Preferred experience with Six Sigma and/or Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM) frameworks
Preferred Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and their integration into large-scale systems
Preferred experience in R&D, technology landscapes, and road mapping for advanced tech
Preferred previous work in regulated industries like medical devices or healthcare technology
Preferred to have demonstrated leadership in software quality initiatives with a focus on ISO 13485 and IEC 62304
