About the role
- Lead the definition, documentation, and implementation of standard PMO business processes (e.g., intake, opportunity assessment, contracting, planning, governance, execution, and close ‑ out).
- Translate ambiguous or inconsistent ways of working into clear, practical standard work, including process flows, RACI, templates, and decision rights.
- Ensure processes are appropriately scaled for program size, risk, and complexity.
- Partner with stakeholders to balance consistency with flexibility, enabling teams to execute efficiently without over ‑ bureaucratization.
- Own and maintain PMO templates, playbooks, and guidance materials; support the creation of a centralized PMO knowledge hub.
- Coach and enable Program Managers and functional partners on how to apply standard work effectively in real programs.
- Support onboarding of new PMs by clarifying expectations, processes, and tools.
- Partner with PMO leadership to mature portfolio management capabilities over time.
- Work closely with R&D, Finance, Quality, Operations, and functional leaders to align PMO processes with broader enterprise requirements.
- Act as a trusted thought partner to PMO leadership on operating model, role clarity, and capability maturity.
Requirements
- Bachelor ’s degree required
- 7+ years of experience in new product development program/project management, PMO, or business process improvement roles.
- Demonstrated experience defining, implementing, and sustaining standard work across multiple teams or programs.
- Strong ability to operate in ambiguous environments and turn ambiguity into clarity.
- Proven stakeholder influence skills without direct authority.
- Experience in regulated environments (medical device, pharma, or equivalent) (Nice to Have)
- Experience building or maturing PMO processes, governance models, or operating frameworks (Nice to Have)
- Lean, Six Sigma, or formal process improvement training strongly preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience supporting portfolio- level or multi program environments (Nice to Have)
