About the role

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions; may incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
  • Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects; may act as a mentor and coach to colleagues and delegate work to lower level specialists.
  • Represents organization as primary contact for projects; communicates with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels.
  • Works in-person with a minimum of 4 days per week onsite to foster cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated LEAN or Six-Sigma fundamentals in a manufacturing or similar setting
  • Experience with electro-mechanical test system troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation
  • Cross-functional interaction with multiple groups; interface with Technician, Supervisor, and Management roles
  • Plan, direct, and actively participate on concurrent projects
  • Equipment qualification/validation
  • Knowledge and application of statistical process control
  • Ability to design manufacturing processes, production layouts, and sequence of operations
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
  • Medical device experience (nice to have)
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 4 days a week onsite
