About the role
- Develop, review, and decompose design inputs and system requirements
- Understand customer use cases, workflows, and interactions
- Understand how our software systems interface with other medical device products within the ecosystem
- Identify technical risks and support risk burn down plan and activities
- Identify change impacts of software systems to use cases, workflows, and interfaces to other products within the ecosystem
- Develop and execute a robust and efficient system verification and validation strategy
- Review and approve engineering reports, protocols, and other documentation
- Execute system testing; troubleshoot test failures, identify source of issue, and collaborate with appropriate partners to for resolution; communicate with internal systems & functional experts at various levels
- Support strategic initiatives aimed at making our systems engineering processes and tools more efficient
- Understand and execute best practices of Systems Engineering processes, advocate for high quality engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years of relevant experience
- Experience with systems engineering principles
- Experience with software system to device interfaces
- Demonstrated ability for independent work
- Demonstrated domain knowledge and understands applications to assigned projects
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement by studying and applying technical advances in area of expertise
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal
- Preferred: Experience with Cardiac Rhythm Management domain
- Preferred: Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Preferred: Experience with system-level test automation
- Preferred: Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma or related product development processes
