About the role

  • Support the Underwriting Portfolio Director
  • Manage a portfolio of Lloyd’s syndicates ensuring adherence to the underwriting management framework
  • Continuous underwriting performance oversight
  • Interface between Asta and its managed clients
  • Manage key underwriting relationships
  • Coordinate business planning process
  • Reporting of business plans and underwriting performance
  • Oversee preparation of underwriting regulatory returns
  • Participate in board and committee meetings
  • Act as a subject matter expert in underwriting performance
  • Manage and develop individuals within the Underwriting Performance function
  • Support onboarding of new syndicates

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in Insurance, ideally working in underwriting, actuarial, finance, operations or related fields.
  • A strong understanding of how a Lloyd’s syndicate operates within the market and as part of a managing agency and good commercial knowledge of the Lloyd’s market.
  • ACII qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  • IT literate; Excel skills a requisite, with a natural ability to pick up new systems quickly.
