About the role
- An SOE (Service Operations Engineering) Cloud Architect for McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) will help design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions for McKesson’s customer-critical SaaS product offerings.\n
- The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure preferred), infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native application design.\n
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with our SaaS offerings and business goals to ensure optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and security.\n
- This individual will be responsible for translating the client\'s business requirements into specific systems, applications, or process designs for large, highly integrated, and complex cloud solutions.\n
- The SOE Architect acts as an advocate for the client, as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems and will provide direction for design activities.\n
- Key Responsibilities: Design and implement cloud architectures for resiliency, high availability, and high performance of application software; Lead cloud migration initiatives and modernization of legacy systems; Define and enforce cloud governance, security, and compliance standards; Develop infrastructure-as-code templates using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates (Bicep); Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Development teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment; Ability to make judgments on architectural tradeoffs between competing requirements of the SaaS offerings and cloud technologies; Ability to effectively model, present, and communicate platform technology/cloud architecture to various audiences consisting of technical and non-technical, internal, and external customers; Ability to research, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies and architectural possibilities to the ongoing advancement of the SaaS offerings; Establish effective working relationships with other McKesson business units and functional groups to ensure a high-level of collaboration and synergistic benefits to MPS
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.\n
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in designing, building, and implementing software business solutions on cloud platforms.\n
- Experience with / knowledge of various architectural techniques and implementations such as Services Oriented Architecture, loosely coupled design techniques, composite application design, and cloud architecture.\n
- Familiarity with crosscutting non-functional requirements of cloud technologies including security, performance, scalability, maintainability (deployment), reliability, and supportability.\n
- Experience in a customer-facing technical consultancy setting.\n
- Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability and willingness to develop and maintain internal- and customer-facing technical and procedural documentation.\n
- Familiarity with high-availability technologies, concepts, and architectural techniques provided by the cloud.\n
- Understanding of information security and risk management concepts, regulations, and certifications including disaster recovery, PHI, HIPAA, PCI, etc.; and information security and system access control policies and processes.\n
- Experience architecting cloud solutions on platforms such as Azure using technologies such as AKS, Docker, Function Apps, Service Buses, Storage Accounts, etc.\n
- Experience with cloud databases and related technologies – Oracle Exadata, Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, etc.\n
- Familiarity with serverless technologies such as Azure Function Apps.\n
- Strong networking fundamentals including firewalls/load balancers (F5, Imperva), application gateways, routers, web/proxy servers, etc. as well as networking tools and utilities.\n
- Monitoring and admin tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, App Insights, Log Analytics, etc.\n
- DevOps Experience with tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub.\n
- Security and Identity Platforms such as OKTA, Key Vaults, and Active Directory.\n
- Messaging Technologies/Protocols such as Kafka, JMS, Azure Event Hub/Service Bus, HTTP, XML, etc.
